Harry Stanley Dickson

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather and friend on Friday, July 6th, 2012 at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre,Toronto, in his 98th year.Harry was born in Grand Valley, Luther Township to Annie (nee Newson) and Andrew Dickson. He is predeceased by his loving wife Christina (Findlay) and brothers Alec and Bill and sisters May, Alice and Ada. Proud father of Sharlene, Craig (Si Si), Dianne (Iain) and loving grandfather of Jennifer, Stephanie, James, Christie, Alex, Jonathan, Meaghan, Blake, Matthew. He will be fondly remembered by Jan and his best friend Jack. Harry lived a full life. After serving in WWII he moved to Toronto to pursue his career and raise his family in Bayview Village. Retiring at age 64 he moved to a 50 acre tree farm in Shelburne which he lovingly developed as his pride and joy; still finding time to be a world traveller. He was quick with a joke and even faster to offer one of his homemade brew, always kind, generous, loving and supportive. The family want to thank the Sunnybrook doctors and staff for their care and ensuring his final days were in dignity and peace. The family will receive friends at the Doney Funeral Home, 318 Main St. E., Shelburne on Tuesday, July 17th from 2-4 and 6-7 p.m. Funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 at 7 p.m. Cremation at the Flesherton Crematorium. Donations to the Friends of South Luther School or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
