Raymond "Ray" Mercer WW11 Veteran

Peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on Thursday, October 29, 2009, in his 89th year. Loving husband of the late Dorothy "Dee". Cherished father of Lynn and her husband Ken Topping, Jane and her husband David Aspenlieder. Devoted grandfather of Geoff (Tara), Keri (John), Kris (Christina), Iain, Adrienne, Erin and great grandfather of Abby, George, Macy, Evan and Liam. Survived by his sister Rose Jackson. Predeceased by his partner Mickey Mader and brother Stan. He will be fondly remembered by Michael Mader and Alexis Birch. He was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 345 and the Shelburne Lions Club. The family will receive friends at the Doney Funeral Home, 318 Main St., E., Shelburne on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. Cremation with interment in the Pinehills Cemetery. Donations to the Dufferin Oaks Equipment Fund would be appreciated.
